16 Weeks till the Los Angeles Marathon - Day #1 of Training

I'd like to take a moment to thank you for stopping by to check out my journey to the 2020 LA Marathon! I'm super excited for this opportunity in conjunction with Fit With A Purpose, and I look forward to sharing a lot more in the upcoming weeks!

Day #1

I believe in starting small - starting with easily obtainable goals and snowballing those into accomplishing the bigger goals.

My training program is one that is set to build off of where I am currently at. I am going to continue to incorporate my weight training, but I will have a heavy focus on the running portion. Another element that I think is very important but often overlooked is stretching!

Run: 15 minutes on the elliptical on level 4


(I did this 18 minute stretching video - I love YouTube as a great source for a variety of stretching workouts! Find one you like and give it a go.)

Sauna: 8 minutes

And that is it! Day #1's workout is complete. I know many of you will be saying "That's It?" yep, that is it. Remember this is a 16 week program - I'm going to be building up to the longer runs and longer workout. Also, remember that REST is a vital point of every training program. Burn out is a real thing, so make sure with training (for anything) you are going at the right pace for you.
